THE DARKPSYDE INTERVIEW----------------------- KHAOS SEKTOR
This month we are joined by the man behind an exciting new darkpsy project from Portugal, Khaos Sektor. Welcome to The Darkpsyde Miguel. Q 1 - You are relatively new on the scene, what was it that got you into producing? A My interest for the psychedelic music and the feeling that I could make music too. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 2 What is going on in your studio right now, will there be a Khaos Sektor album surfacing any time soon? A I hope so, I'll start working on that soon. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 3 Apart from your Khaos Sektor project do you have any other side projects going on and if so please tell us a little about them? A Yes, I have a project with Arhiman from Mexico, the project's name is Rise Of Evil. We're working on some tracks and we hope they will be out soon. These projects are always good for us because we always learn good things from working with other artists. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 4 What are your views on the current trend of music piracy? A In my point of view the music should all be free. I don't think its correct to forbid people to listen to the music they like, imagine people who don't have any money, they would never hear their favourite artists albums if they weren't for free on the internet. On the other hand piracy has a bad side too, because without selling their albums the artists wouldn't receive money for their work. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 5 You are from Portugal where many good quality night time artists seem to be appearing from at the moment, for example Palex, Kryptum and LAB. Is the scene only just taking off there or has it been going strong for a long time? A This scene that's taking off is relatively recent in Portugal. There are many new artists in this scene with very good music. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 6 Darkpsy is the label that has been slapped upon our music, personally I prefer the description full power night time music. It is a debate that has been going on almost since the expression was first coined, so, do you like the term darkpsy? A I don't really care about the name. Everything is the same, everyone has their own opinion. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 7 Who are your favourite upcoming producers at the moment? A Right now I'm interested in Ikpeng tracks, Savage Scream and many other artists, there's a lot of good music out there. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 8 Where is your favourite place in the world to party and why? A I like Mexico, because of the ancient ambience that Central America has. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 9 What is your best party memory as an artist and why? A The last party I went to, with Frantic Noise. It was really good getting to know him. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q 10 - And your best memory as a party goer?
